Proposed Parish Centre
Since the last report,many hours have been spent in research, monthly meetings have been held, plans have been drawn up and continually modified, several site visits have been made, two powerpoint presentations have been seen and two fund-raising concerts have taken place. The steering group is supported by three consultants and there is now an observer from St Nicholas' Church Council. The total area occupied will be 184 square metres and the building would sit partly on the present hall site and partly on about one third of the existing lawn. After approaching three possible builders and seeing their finished buildings firsthand, the steering group has recommended: Scandinavian Log Cabins Direct Ltd to the Church Council. Assuming some element of VAT the present estimated cost may be in the region of £165,000.

Negotiations will follow with the Diocese, the Builder and the Local Authority before an official "Launch" is held. Further fund-raising and grant and loan application is likely to be a long and hard road.
To ensure a successful outcome,the project cannot be simply a replacement for an old church hall. The Parish Centre must be available to the wider community.
The steering group welcomes interested people and particularly those who can offer relevant expertise and experience particularly marketing and fund-raising.
